How to do it

All-fours glute kickback with a band above the knees and knee pads for support.

You'll need

Steps

  1. Donkey Kicks with Resistance Bands & Knee Pads: all-fours setup with hand/shoulder and knee/hip alignment and pads.

Get on your yoga mat on all fours, with your hands directly under your shoulders and knees under your hips. Use knee pads under your knees for added support.

  2. Donkey Kicks with Resistance Bands & Knee Pads: loop placement inset and level spine.

Place the resistance band around your thighs, just above your knees. Keep your back flat and your core gently engaged.

  3. Donkey Kicks with Resistance Bands & Knee Pads: bent working knee lifting back/up with sole facing ceiling.

Keeping your knee bent, slowly lift one leg up and back, pushing your foot toward the ceiling. Keep your hips facing the floor.

  4. Donkey Kicks with Resistance Bands & Knee Pads: controlled return and mirrored other-leg inset.

Slowly lower your leg back down with control, keeping tension on the band. Repeat for your desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.

  5. Donkey Kicks with Resistance Bands & Knee Pads: side/rear view of bent knee and level hips.

Form cue: Knee bent, kick back, squeeze your glute, hips stay square.
