Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down

Intermediate, Upper body, Lats, 3 x 10 each arm

How to do it

Single-arm lat pull-down with a high-anchored long loop band.

You'll need

Steps

  1. Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down: standing facing visible overhead anchor holding one strand with one hand.

Secure the long loop resistance band above head height to a sturdy anchor point. Stand or kneel facing the anchor and hold one side of the band with one hand.

  2. Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down: working arm up slightly bent, shoulder relaxed.

Keep your core engaged, chest lifted and shoulder relaxed. Extend your working arm upward toward the anchor, keeping a slight bend in your elbow.

  3. Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down: same elbow pulls to side, hand at shoulder/chest height.

Drive your elbow down and toward your side, pulling the band until your hand reaches around shoulder/chest level. Keep your elbow close to your body.

  4. Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down: working arm extends up again.

Slowly extend your arm back upward, allowing the band to return under control. Keep tension in the band throughout.

  5. Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down: mirrored other-arm setup with anchor unchanged.

Complete the planned number of repetitions, then switch arms.

  6. Single Arm Power Lat Pull Down: up/down path inset emphasizing elbow toward ribs, not straight-arm pulldown.

Form cue: Reach up, drive your elbow down, squeeze your lat, and return slowly.

Stop if you feel pain. This is general guidance, not medical advice.
