Dead Bug with Weighted Wrist Bands

Beginner, Core, 3 x 10 each side

How to do it

Dead bug on the yoga mat with weighted wrist bands, extending opposite arm and leg.

You'll need

Steps

  1. Dead Bug with Weighted Wrist Bands: supine tabletop legs, arms to ceiling and wrist cuffs.

Lie on your back with your knees bent at 90° and feet lifted off the floor. Place the weighted wrist bands securely around your wrists (if you have a second pair you place them around your ankles). Extend your arms straight toward the ceiling.

  2. Dead Bug with Weighted Wrist Bands: same setup with head/shoulders down and lower-back contact.

Engage your core and gently press your lower back into the mat. Keep your head and shoulders relaxed on the floor.

  3. Dead Bug with Weighted Wrist Bands: right arm overhead and left leg extending low, other limbs retained.

Slowly extend your right arm overhead while straightening your left leg toward the floor. Keep your movements controlled and your lower back pressed into the mat.

  4. Dead Bug with Weighted Wrist Bands: return to tabletop then left arm/right leg extension.

Bring your arm and leg back to the starting position, then extend your left arm and right leg. Continue alternating sides for the planned number of repetitions.

  5. Dead Bug with Weighted Wrist Bands: opposite-limb pair highlighted with low-back contact guide.

Form cue: Move slowly, keep your back down, and extend opposite arm and leg.
